F.A.Q. What kind of game is Terminus? Terminus is a panfandom horror game that features elements of survival. It will primarily focus on psychological events. There will be the occasionally body horror, as well as humanity type themes. We take pride in presenting unique events that have been inspired by real life events throughout mankind’s history. What are events are featured in this game? There is an array of events that take place in Terminus. Events can be anything from something surreal to dreamscape to even paranormal. On occasion, the game may host gory or ‘brutal’ events, but that will depend on the course of the story. Remember, some events have been translated from actual events in history. What better way to induce horror than from humanity itself?! What characters am I allowed to app? Characters from all publishable mediums from their Original (or Canon Alternate) universe, as well as Original Characters. We will not be accepting any Alternate Universe or Character Relation Alternate Universe at this time. Is there a character age limit? Sort of. Given that this game is horrific in nature, we ask that you refrain from applying characters too young to handle the trauma they might experience. No one will be able to babysit or attend to characters that require extra care. We expect that characters being applied are capable of handling themselves. That said, if a character is mentally more mature than they look, they are appable. Will my character get to keep their powers? Yes and no. This will be held on a case by case basis. Any game/world breaking powers will be instantly nullified upon entering the city. If the mods feel like a character is too strong, you will be asked to nerf your character’s powers. That said, characters with powers will occasionally have their abilities tampered with, keep that in mind while apping. What about character pets/weapons? Both of these are allowed, but are limited case by case. If the animal is large (like Appa from Avatar the Last Air Bender), we will ask that you not include them. If a weapon is deemed too powerful, mods will ask that the abilities be nerfed. How do characters communicate? Characters who already have a phone or other type of mobile device will be able to use it in Terminus. The network will automatically sync with their device. Characters without one will be issued a phone upon arrival. What happens when my character dies? Death visits your character and sends them to the afterlife. Essentially, they stay dead. Given that this game isn’t your ordinary horror show, we want death to have a meaning. If your character dies, they may be the talk of the town, or they may not be acknowledged at all. Events that feature opportunities to kill your character will be clearly labeled and players are required to sign up for character death. Can I app a character that has died or has been dropped? In short, no. Even if you are a different player than the one that apped the character previously, the character will still remain dead. This is relevant to the plot. A reference list of characters that have died in game can be found . Characters that have been dropped are still reappable. You can choose to carry on previous memories and character relation or you can start off with a clean slate. The option is up to you. If you choose to retain their memories, you will be given vague information on what the character may have experienced during their disappearance. Their memory will be unfocused and fuzzy, and they won’t be able to recall any vivid detail. What happens if I go on hiatus/drop? If you take a hiatus, your character will go missing. No one will be able to find them regardless of how hard they search. Characters will have no recollection of what happened to them or where they went upon returning. If you choose to drop, your characters will disappear (similar to missing, but more devastating). At this current time, no one knows what happens to characters that disappear. Can I canon update my character? No. Once characters are brought to this world, they’re here for good! Characters that were previously dropped cannot be apped from a different canon point if its from the same mun. If it’s a different mun, they are not required to app from the character’s former canon point; however, their memories are subject to being jumbled. Who is Death? Death is an NPC who makes infrequent appearances. Death also escorts characters who have died to the afterlife. Little known about Death and their motives. What about the bright light? The bright light is the strange phenomenon that occurred in the center of Terminus. Many of the natives call it “God’s Punishment”. All that is understood about the light is that it appears to be the source that summons people from other worlds. Wait, so what’s happening in the city? Something has taken over the city, essentially. A number of things have happened since the strike of the light (well before character’s started arriving). Such as the advancement of time (or lack thereof,) and the summoning of foreigners from other worlds. Some of the locals are investigating the phenomenon, but are unable to solve it alone. The only tip so far is the one given by Death informing you that they are here. Who are they? That’s the thing, we don’t know! This will be revealed as the story progresses. Why do natives hate the characters? Most natives are under the impression that they are the problem. It’s their fault this is happening, and maybe it is! Don’t expect them to be liked anytime soon. However, there are some natives that are willing to interact and help the characters. There was a mention of time not advancing. Time does not advance here, it is stuck on the same day. Day after day, the same day is repeated over and over again. There is no way to keep track of time here. Time on your phone and/or computer are absent. Watches and clocks? Gone. Calendars, date planners? Also gone. Any attempt to keep track of time or documentation will be scattered or sabotaged. Anything that takes place on the network will have no time stamp. How does the time affect the city? Easy! Anything that takes place in the city will be reverted back to its original state. That building your character damaged will be back to normal. Food taken from the shelves are replaced. Anything tangibly different will go back to the way it was. The means if your character tries to take notes or documentation, it will be gone the following day. The only thing that seems to remain in tact is the network. NINETEEN TWENTY |
